Country Folks Livin' Loud
One of my current favorite songs is "Country Folks Living Loud" by the Lost Trailers. (see lyrics below). What I like about it is the simplicity that it talks about. Having a good time, not worrying about using crystal glasses to drink your wine (I don't drink, but let's pretend), and it is ok to use dixie cups. (one example). We don't have to go to fancy parties or to a downtown night club to have fun.I think I really like the country living, and I wish I had more country in my life. I know I live in a suburb with almost 5 acres of land, but what would it be like to live more than just 30 miles from a large metropolitan area? I mean, maybe living clear out in hicktown? I think it would be kinda cool, as long as I had internet access. I would love a much larger garden (which I am finding out takes a LONG time to weed and take care of). my medium-sized garden is almost too much for my busy schedule.I think I just want a simple life. To get back to the root of what is important in life. More peace, less "things". Just this past weekend we spent an afternoon on the river in a canoe. It was a blast. Very peaceful. Relaxing. I want more days like that. It is hard with my life right now, but I am striving toward simplicity. You know the story about the man in a fishing village who was fishing, and providing for his family, relaxing, spending time with his children, and then a corporation came in and told him he could make a lot of money and then retire... he ends up making a lot of money, and then they ask him what he wants to do, and he says living in a small fishing village, fish, spend time with my family (by this time his grandchildren) and relax. Exactly what he was doing before the big corporation took over his operation and made him money. Sometimes we go too far away from what is really important to us. Enough for now. Lyrics:Country Folks Livin' Loud by The Lost TrailersHey, look at all those cowgirls tearin down the gravel roads on Saturday night
Singing Summertime at the top of their lungs, sippin Dixie cups of strawberry wine
All my boys are out, we holler and whistle and honk our horns in time
Were just country folks livin loud, were country folks livin loud
Were just country folks livin loud Were crankin Waylon Jennings in our pickup trucks, clinkin beer bottles till the sun comes up
Mammas in the church choir, oh, what a sound, were country folks livin loud
Were drivin tractors in the cotton till the cows come home
Boots on the dance floor around we go
The Star Spangled Banner, we sing it proud, were country folks livin loud Interstates jammed with race fans, were headin towards a Talladega infield sign
Our tailgates are droppin and barbecues poppin, everybodys gonna have a good time
There aint nuthin like those engines startin and the crowd at the finish line
Were just country folks livin loud, were country folks livin loud
Were just country folks livin loud Were crankin Waylon Jennings in our pickup trucks, clinkin beer bottles till the sun comes up
Mammas in the church choir, oh, what a sound, were country folks livin loud
Were drivin tractors in the cotton till the cows come home
Boots on the dance floor around we go
The Star Spangled Banner, we sing it proud, were country folks livin loud Its a hoot and a holler on a touchdown pass a George Strait crowd when he tips his hat
Lord, aint that what its all about Were crankin Waylon Jennings in our pickup trucks, clinkin beer bottles till the sun comes up
Mammas in the church choir, oh, what a sound, were country folks livin loud
Were drivin tractors in the cotton till the cows come home
Boots on the dance floor around we go
The Star Spangled Banner, we sing it proud, were country folks livin loud
Were country folks and were proud of livin loudDetox Your Body with
