Health Insurance Meetings Today -- YAY!

No matter how many people complain from my company about our health insurance plan, I am very grateful for it. We had our annual meeting to go over our plans today (our plan year starts October 1st), and while I don't think the presentation was a good one, our coverage really didn't change much. I have to pay maybe about $10 more per month and the changes that went into effect due to Obamacare and also because of plan changes, aren't going to affect me.

We basically have a $2500 deductible, and after that, everything is covered 100%. Well, everything that I might need. Gastric Bypass surgery isn't covered anymore, but I won't be needing that. And, our company has set us up with an HSA, and contributes $1000 to it each year. That to me is great. That means I really only have a $1500 deductible. Since I will be done with my surgeries, etc. this plan year, I don't plan on using anything for the next years, so I can start saving in my HSA.

I really think the HDHPs (high deductible health plans) are good. And I love the benefits of the HSAs. I am grateful for this!!
